We train more than 2200 students in human medicine and dentistry. This ranks us as one of the largest medical faculties in Switzerland. What makes our degree programs unique in terms of content is our strong emphasis on practical relevance, our diversity of subjects, and our high level of innovation. Close links between basic research, the clinics, and engineering sciences create the optimal conditions for cutting-edge medical research and translation. In addition to the pre-clinical institutes and the School of Dental Medicine, the Faculty includes two university hospitals: Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, and Universitäre Psychiatrische Dienste (UPD).
Here you will find an overview of all organizational units belonging to the Faculty or in which the Faculty participates.
Congratulations to our three recipients of an Ambizione Grant 2023! The projects selected by the SNSF will investigate age-related macular degeneration, hallucinations in schizophrenia, and the global impact of droughts on human health.
