The Department fulfills the tasks of a university institution in patient care, teaching and research, and also provides outpatient care services. These include individual cutting-edge medical services, namely in interventional radiology.

Profile

  • Teaching medical students, biomedical engineering students, FaGes, and radiographers
  • Currently performing 20 self-initiated studies, 12 cooperation studies, and supporting ca. 180 ongoing clinical studies
  • Research topics include artificial intelligence (AI), contrast media, multiparametric imaging, advanced image analysis, structured reporting, digitalization of workflow, non-invasive tissue characterization with multiparametric MRI, and Photocounting-CT
  • Innovation: aiming at imaging biomarkers for prevention, AI-driven diagnostics, therapy response prediction, image-guided navigation during an intervention, as well as treatment and workflow planning
